Diving Deeper

Mental Note to be added to my journal later…

Diving deeper into keep, we come across a sleeping goblin. Once again forced to translated for the meat shields, the goblin claimed to be a political prisoner and leader. Due to my study of the arcane arts, my lie detecting skills aren’t as strong as I would like, however we discerned he was up to something, and took him with us (personal note, study the dishonest nature of mortals). We looted his belongs and found a wand that had some power I’m not familiar with, and could possibly be a culprit in my current predicament. But I digress.

We decided to check the front door and see just how much of a prisoner our goblin was. The door was locked from the inside and a guard was posted outside. Our self proclaimed “valiant leader” Bishop Mace was going to attempt to drag him inside, however due to total ineptitude of Bishop or incredible martial skills of the Goblin (I vote the former), Bishop failed the behind the back surprise attack and thrown into the hall. We managed to recover however, and with help we brought him back into the room and again I initiated the interrogation. He agreed to join us after we offered payment. We cross referenced the guard’s information to the leader’s, discovered the leader knew a password to the deeper sections, and decided to take both deeper into the keep seeking after the master.

Upon entering into the lower section, the smell of undead was overwhelming. My comrades vetoed my sage like advice to wait until the leader’s report was due, and possibly no undead in the area, and continue forth into danger. We were quickly hit from a multi-pronged attack with the meat shields struggling against several zombies in the first room, and the other intellectual the dwarf priest Adrik and myself holding up the rear pushing back wave after wave of zombies.

Now I must conclude this mental note, as the next wave marches forth to their obliteration. We are holding strong now due to the superior skills, intellect, and wit of Adrik and myself, however even we can be overwhelmed…

Bishop Mace the 20th, and his lackeys, Bravely Faces Unknown Evil Force

Last week, Bishop Mace XX, and his followers, heard tale of a ruined keep, once belonging to a Paladin, to the north of the town. All who travel to explore the keep fail to return.

Knowing that a malevolent force must be at play, the brave and noble Paladin Mace, immediately departed with is followers to investigate the keep and clease the ruined keep of the malignant forces that must occupy it.

Travelling north, towards the keep, the valiant band encountered a dense fog before arriving at the keep. While in the fog the band notices a ghostly figure who tells them to turn around because only death awaits those who enter the keep.

The figure announces himself as Cairallelle. The band, led by Mace, bravely ignored the specters warnings and plodded forward. Immediately they were accosted by shadowy tentacles which shot out of the ground. The Paladin Mace shrugged off his attackers and deduced that Cairallelle was behind the attacks and attacked the menacing figure bravely. In single combat, Mace destroyed Cairallelle and in doing so saved all of his company who were slowly being strangled by the tentacles.

Moving on to the misty grounds surrounding the keep, the band followed Mace as he investigated the outer curtain wall of the keep. The noble Paladin notices a figure moving in front of them. Mace valiantly follows the figure and sees a figured, kneeling in prayer.

Mace addresses the figure and determines that the figure is the specter of the slain, former owner of the keep. After a Q&A session, Bishop Mace gained the fallen paladin’s trust and handy dandy new magical sword.

Learning where the entrance to the catacombs underneath the keep are located, Mace leads his followers onward… to glory.

Upon descending into the catacombs. Mace’s dwarven lackey immediately falls into pit trap and must be rescued by Mace. While rescuing the “little guy”, Mace’s party is attacked by non-humans. Maces drives off the ravening pack of bloodthirsty goblins with one arm while pulling the dwarf out of the hole with a rope, using his other arm.

What may Mace and his band of brave but inept followers encounter next??? We can only guess till the next chapter of this epic saga, which begins on October 30th at 5 pm.

Kobolds gone wild

The party has noticed that the kobold minions that joined them were not dumb as they had originally observed. The kobolds posses an amazing capacity to learn, which seems to have increased exponentially since entering the ritual circle.

Adding the 3 kobolds and Kalyth produced a portal. It is not known where the portal leads.

There is also the quest to locate Dougan Stahl. The PC’s have not located Dougan.

The party was hired by Lord Ernest Valael to clear the area of the kobolds blocking their trade routes. The part located the lair in a cliff.

The players were successful in defeating the kobolds and even gained kobold followers from the adventure.

Items found:

Will only fit a small character. Upon further examination you notice embossed images of a black dragon. It appears as if someone was attempting to deface the images.
